Metalcraft announces Onsite Printable Universal Mini RFID Tags
Thermal transfer printer receptive label available for small footprint, low profile tag

MASON CITY, IOWA (Dec. 9, 2014) – Metalcraft today announced availability of their Onsite Printable Universal Mini RFID Tags designed to fit where other tags cannot while delivering excellent read ranges regardless of the mounting surface. The small, durable product features a substrate constructed from materials receptive to thermal transfer printing.

The Universal Mini RFID Tag is a surface independent tag that uses a patented inlay design and passive RFID technology to obtain a read range of approximately 12 feet. At just 2.75 inches long by 0.75 inches wide and just .05 inches thick, it remains the lowest profile among metal mount tags. The inlay adheres to polyester or paper for thermal transfer printing. Metalcraft recommends the Zebra R110Xi4 printer for best results.

"We're bringing our revolutionary RFID tag to customers who need onsite printing," said Metalcraft president and CEO Steve Doerfler. "Metalcraft's Universal Mini RFID Asset tags have outperformed our expectations as a single, durable RFID tag suitable for a range of items in an asset tracking application. The size and read range set it apart from other tags in its class."

Metalcraft now offers four Universal RFID products to deliver a 'one-tag-fits-all' solution for most applications; the Mini RFID Tags, Universal RFID Asset Tag and Universal RFID Hard Tag are durable performers when attached to metal, plastic and wooden assets.
