Patented Foil Bar Code on a Roll

Metalcraft announces patent for Foil Bar Code Roll Labels
Automated application, flexible form and durable reads via patented production

MASON CITY, IOWA (March 23, 2015) – Metalcraft's Foil Bar Code Roll Labels are the only label of their kind on the market – designed for automatic application, able to conform to most surfaces and durable in harsh conditions. Metalcraft secured a patent (US 8,888,943 B1) for its process for producing metal foil labels in roll form. The labels can be used with or without an automated applicator.

"Automating application of Foil Bar Code Roll Labels saves time and eliminates potential misapplication," said Metalcraft president and CEO Steve Doerfler. "Still, these bar code labels don't have to be used with an automated applicator; some customers just prefer to have their labels on rolls rather than strips."

The patented Foil Bar Code Roll Label is a 1.5-inch by 0.5-inch by .005-inch aluminum label that conforms easily to radius surfaces and withstands chemicals, abrasion, solvents, and high temperatures due to photographically reproduced black copy, logos and bar codes sealed in the anodizing process. They are compatible with the Nautilus Systems PL100 applicators – precision "cut, peel and place" equipment commonly found in packaging, automotive, medical device, electronics and other industries.
