The Universal RFID Asset Tag product line and key differentiation points

Universal RFID Tags

Setting the standard for more than 10 years, the Universal RFID Asset Tag product line continues to push the boundaries of customization and the latest technology powered by the deep expertise of our RFID engineers.

Where it all started

They say that necessity truly is the mother of all invention and that was most definitely the case in the development of the Universal RFID Asset Tag. At the time, Metalcraft leadership recognized there was no RFID tag on the market that performed well both on and off metal surfaces. This was a problem because Metalcraft specializes in asset tracking applications regardless of technology and surface. However, more and more customers were inquiring about RFID and most asset surfaces were metal.

Rather than seeing this as an insurmountable obstacle, Metalcraft leadership, spearheaded by President Steve Doerfler, saw it as an opportunity to disrupt the RFID marketplace by developing the first-of-its-kind RFID tag that performed well both on and off metal.

The Universal RFID Asset Tag was and still is in a class by itself combining excellent read range on metal (25+ ft) with very good read ranges on other non-metal surfaces, i.e., plastic (15-18 ft). It truly is the closest thing you will find to a “one-size-fit-all” RFID solution.

The Metalcraft RFID Difference: continual upgrades

All Metalcraft RFID tags are designed with our proven durability, ready to withstand repeated usage in rugged environments, generating a greater ROI for your business. Each tag can be programmed to match the variable information printed on the label or programmed with other variable information. Every product features a subsurface digital printing process that ensures crisp details on even the most complex logos for maximum clarity. Four-color processing is also available for limitless color and design options.

The Universal RFID inlays are just one of the possible custom RFID inlays we are able to manufacture with the latest addition to our customization capabilities – the ability to design, develop and manufacture RFID inlays.
