When it comes to the government and military, security is of the utmost importance. Whether it’s technology containing classified information or property equipment, many government assets must be tracked and monitored at all times. And these Items can be on the battlefield, in space or scattered through a worldwide logistics supply chain—so they need to be tough enough for very harsh conditions.
For any asset tracking, including with the Department of Defense mandated UID, there is a high need for visibility of all types of assets, where they are in the supply chain and that the tag fits the unique environment for the lifecycle of the asset.
Metalcraft’s high-performance tags are fit to the military and government exacting requirements, where our expert engineers design whatever the needs call for, from beginning to end. As a trusted partner, military and government organizations with extremely high standards can count on us for:
Automated asset tracking with real-time, 100% accurate data by location
Enhanced security, discouraging theft/misplacement
Records of maintenance
Supply-chain process optimization and transparency
A real-time account of safe handling
Scalable solutions worldwide
In the highly sensitive, demanding and fast-paced military and government industries, our partnerships have netted advancements that have made things easier, quicker and engineered to last, now that’s ID Made Better®.
Dirt, grease, grime, even dried paint easily clean off this revolutionary nameplate due to its durable Teflon® coating. Once clean, you get a fast, accurate bar code reading to track assets, fugitive emissions or work-in-process.
Metal Barcode Tags are ideal for customers who require permanent nameplates to stand up in harsh environments.
Digital printing ensures bar code readability as well as crisp, clean company logos while subsurface printing protects the logos, copy and bar code against extreme solvents, caustics, acids and moderate abrasion – ensuring the mark with last the service lifetime of the item being identified.
Metal Barcode Nameplates combine reliability with the durability you have come to expect with any Metalcraft product. And now we’ve made them even easier to apply with a convenient break-away tab to assist with liner removal.
Metalcraft’s Foil 2D Dot is an ideal identification solution for small parts tracking - specializing in extreme conditions where abrasion and high temperatures may be an issue.
Durable .002" polyester Premium Polyester Labels adhere to uneven and curved metal and plastic assets. The .002” pressure-sensitive adhesive gives a strong bond. The subsurface, digital printing ensures barcode readability and crisp graphics.
Our Metalphoto® UID photosensitive anodized aluminum nameplates and labels are an ideal solution for many UID applications.
Foil Barcode Labels are ideal for customers who require a flexible label that will conform to most surfaces, yet will withstand chemicals, abrasion, solvents, and high temperatures.
Metalcraft's RFID Standard Single Side RFID Labels are ideal for asset tracking applications on non-metal surfaces that require attachment directly to the asset.
The On-Site Printable Universal Mini RFID Tag is specifically designed to allow easy printing and encoding of RFID tags on-demand, providing a reliable, cost-effective solution for your on-site RFID printing.
Measuring 1 7/8" x 5/8", the Universal Micro RFID Tag is a great solution to your identification projects that require a small RFID tag with great read range. With a tiny footprint and low profile, the Universal Micro RFID Tag easily fits where other tags are too big and obtrusive.
With a smaller footprint and lower profile than the original Universal RFID Asset Tag, the Universal Mini RFID Tag easily fits in smaller places where other tags may be too large.
This revolutionary product line features surface-independent tags with a patented inlay designed to obtain excellent read range regardless of the surface - metal, plastic, even wood.
Taking UID beyond compliance
Many people familiar with the UID mandate from the Department of Defense understand compliance with this mandate is very important. However, what people may not realize is that so much more can be accomplished with this information other than just becoming UID compliant. Unique Item Identification is the foundation for larger policy goals aimed at improving logistical readiness across DoD such as Serialized Item Management (SIM) and Joint Total Asset Visibility (JTAV).
Durable Barcode Labels - What Does it Mean To You?
Durable - it's a term that is thrown around pretty loosely in our industry, but can mean different things to different people. Does it mean it stands up to high temperatures, chemicals, or abrasion? What about all three?
Benchtop Fiber Laser - Creating Compliant UID Labels & Tags
One of the key points in the UID mandate is the UII must last the lifetime of the item. This is true regardless of whether you are complying with a pre-printed UID label or are creating the UID labels onsite. Laser engraved UID nameplates are one way users can create their own UID nameplates onsite when quicker turnaround times are needed, but yet you don't want to sacrifice too much durability over pre-printed tags.
Custom Barcode Labels - QR and DataMatrix
While there is a lot of hype (deservedly so) out in the marketplace right now surrounding QR code it is not the only 2D bar code symbology available on the market. In other words, not all 2D bar codes are QR codes. There are a variety of others, but I would like to direct some attention to one in particular - DataMatrix.
